Country Music Association Awards (CMA) — ежегодная американская музыкальная награда Ассоциации кантри-музыки Country Music Association. Вручается с 1967 года в Нэшвилле (США) за достижения в области музыки стиля кантри.[1]

В 1967 году в Нэшвилле прошло первое вручение наград CMA Awards от имени Ассоциации. Церемонию вели Sonny James и Бобби Джентри (без телеэфира). Победителем в главной номинации «Entertainer of the Year» стал певец Eddy Arnold. В категории «Male Vocalist of the Year» победил Jack Greene, а в «Female Vocalist of the Year» — Loretta Lynn. В 1968 году церемонию вели Roy Rogers и Dale Evans и она прошла в Ryman Auditorium (Нэшвилл). Это церемония была заснята и показана по телеканалу NBC несколькими неделями спустя. И только в 1969 году состоялся прямой эфир вручения этих кантри-наград. В 1972—2005 годах церемонию транслировал телеканал CBS. С ноября 2006 эфир перешёл к каналу ABC. Многие годы церемония проходит в Нэшвилле (Grand Ole Opry); сначала в Ryman Auditorium, а в 1974—2004 в Grand Ole Opry House. В 2005 церемония впервые прошла в Нью-Йорке в Медисон-сквер-гарден. Однако с 2006 вернулась в Нэшвилл, теперь на Bridgestone Arena.[1]

Основные награды [править]

Существует 12 основных наград в следующих категориях: Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist, Female Vocalist, New Artist of the Year (до 2008 называлась Horizon Award), Vocal Group, Vocal Duo (с 1970), Single, Album, Song, Music Event (с 1988), Music Video (с 1985), Musician.[2] Кроме того, есть ещё 9 наград для радиостанций, вещающих кантри-музыку: «CMA Broadcast Award» (Station of the Year и Personality of the Year). Причём она ранжируется в зависимости от широты охваты аудитории на несколько номинаций: major market (Arbitron Ranking 1—25), large market (Arbitron Ranking 26—50), medium market (Arbitron Ranking 51—100), small market (All other Markets).
