The role of communications in po-lice work is really two-fold. Here the mobile radio-telephone is invaluable. Take the case of a recent hold-upat a lonely gas station on the out-skirts of one of our large cities. The attendant was shot and killedby the nervous gunman. A passingmotorist, chancing on the scene justas the hold-up man was escaping,called the police from the gas-stationtelephone and gave an excited storyof the murder.
