English: The War Memorial Opera House, on Van Ness Avenue across from City Hall, in the Civic Center district of San Francisco, California. Designed by Arthur Brown, Jr. in 1927-1928, it is one of the last Beaux-Arts style structures erected in the United States. Construction was completed in 1932. The "War Memorial" name commemorates all the people who served in World War I, which ended seven years before the project commenced.
