Lazzaro Opizio Pallavicino held various posts within the Roman Curia, including the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura.

He was appointed titular archbishop of Lepanto in 1754 and sent as nuncio to Naples and then in Spain.

Pope Clement XIII created him cardinal in the consistory of September 26, 1766. Serra is the cardinal legate in Ferrara from 1766.

He participated in the conclave of 1768, during which elected Pope Clement XIV, and that of 1774-1775 (election of Pius VI).

He is Cardinal Secretary of State from 1769 until his death, Chamberlain College of Cardinals in 1776-1777 and ambassador plenipotentiary for the Treaty with Venice in 1783.

Pallavicino Cardinal died in Rome February 23, 1785 at the age of 65. Longbowman 17:58, 30 октября 2010 (UTC)
