Filename needs correction / moving[править код]

Hello. Sorry for writing in English, but my Russian will not be enough to explain the story correctly and in detail. :-)

There is a necessary change of the filename of this file, as it is currently (Кирилл (Йончев).jpg) incorrect. The mistake comes from a negligence in the Rousse Directorate of the Bulgarian State Archives which however was partly fixed on 14 April 2021.

Prior to this, the source incorrectly identified the man on the photo as Кирилл (Йончев)), who was "архиепископ Питтсбургский, Западно-Пенсильванский и Болгарской епархии." Kirill Yonchev was born in 1920, i.e. he was as old as 47 when the photo was taken in 1967, while the person on the photo is obviously much younger.

Most probably the portraited person is Кирилл (Поповский), born in 1934, who was 33 year old when the photo was taken (this age is much closer to the age of the man on the photo), and most probably the photo was taken on the occasion of his inauguration as "епископ". As the article about Поповский writes: "18 июля 1967 года Кирилл был назначен на новоучреждённую Американско-Канадскую и Австралийскую епархию", which is identical to what the source from the Bulgarian State Archives in Rousse is giving as a correct photo description: "Портретна снимка на епископ Кирил Американски, Канадски и Австралийски. Полуфиг. Духовни одежди."

Please note that in the corrected record description the staffer from the Rousse archive took (this time correctly) the handwritten description on the back of the photo, but it does not contain the family name. The names of the eparchy (America, Canada and Australia), however cannot identify Kirill Yonchev, who never was bishop of the Australian Eparchy and this division was introduced after his term of service. This triple eparchy however identifies Kirill Popovskii.

A bit more information about the archival document and of the correction made by the Rousse Archive on 14 April 2021.

  1. The original archival document is (physically) available as identified in the following way:
    • Identifier of Archive (Zero Level): ДА – Русе - 30
    • Number of Fond (First Level) -- in Bulgarian: Номер на фонд: 1363
    • Number of Inventory (Second Level) -- in Bulgarian: Номер на опис: 1
    • Number of Archive Unit (Third Level) -- in Bulgarian: Номер на АЕ / Архивна единица: 274
    • Number of Sheets (Fourth and Last Level) -- in Bulgarian: Брой листове: 1 of 1
  2. As URL-s the record for the photo appears at two places:

Although the page https://www.archives.government.bg/199-Русе appears to have served as the source of the photo back in 2013, as well as of the photo description and identification, this page is no more technically maintained and the information there appears to be uncorrectable. The correction was taken by a staffer of the Rousse Archive, but only in the actual database: http://isda.archives.government.bg:84/Process.aspx?type=ArchiveEntity&agid=30&flgid=22096&ilgid=58476&aelgid=6778733

In conclusion: with the arguments above,

  • please rename the present incorrect filename from "Кирилл (Йончев).jpg" to
    • either Кирил (Поповский).jpg (which seems to be the most probable correct candidate for the person on the photo),
    • or a filename that contains the (accurate) identification of the archival document (photo) instead of the (dubious) identification of the person on the photo, e.g. Rousse Archive Document-1363-1-274-1.jpg
  • or, alternatively delete this photo, given that it is fair use and hence of limited use, as well as given the detected inaccuracy in its identification as Yonchev, together with the strong, but yet assumption made about identifying the man as Popovskii.

I hope the situation has been made clear, and I am available to contribute further to the discussion, in case this is necessary. Thank you for the assistance. Spiritia (обс.) 20:38, 15 апреля 2021 (UTC)[ответить]

@Ctac: Thank you for fixing that! :-) Spiritia (обс.) 05:38, 16 апреля 2021 (UTC)[ответить]
