Описание

Western Front: Western Front (Belgium), Ypres Area. Unidentified soldiers, probably British, grouped around two 12 inch Mk III howitzers on Railway Hill used to support the Australian troops. The howitzer in the foreground is mounted on railway tracks, which allowed it to be moved to take up different positions along the railway line. Note a railcar on the right and piles of sandbags in the background.


NOTE : This version of the photograph has brightness and contrast artificially increased to highlight details.
