suppose that the archduchycould have supplied enough men to form two-thirds of Rudolfsarmy, when Styria, Carniola, Carinthia, Salzburg, and theSwabian and other auxiliaries, only made up one-third betweenthem. Possibly the two Austrian corps were formed in a singleline, as we should gather from the Styrian Rhyming Chronicleand several other authorities. It is inconceivable that either theeagle or the Austrian flag should have been borne by theHungarians, whom the Rhyming Chronicle places as the firsttwo divisions of the host. ^ Chron.
