The Ringling Brothers, always alert to secure good materialfor their organization, induced him to come to Baraboo in 1893, andhere he was made manager of transportation, one of the most importantdepartments in a traveling institution of this kind, requiring intimateknowledge of conditions, stupendous executive ability and a voluminousamount of labor.
