ABRO (I’m not sure what the letters ABRO stand for) no longer exists as a separate entity having merged with DARA (Defence Aviation Repair Agency) to form the Defence Support Group or DSG. DARA itself was created from the merger of the RAF Maintenance Group Defence Agency (MGDA) and the Naval Aircraft Repair Organisation (NARO). All these groups were or are 'independent trading funds' which are a bit like ordinary limited companies but funded (I assume) by the government rather than shareholders or loan capital. From the DSG website:

'Both ABRO and DARA operated as independent Trading Funds but in May 2007 Lord Drayson, the former Minister for Defence Equipment and Support, announced the creation of a new defence support group by the merger of both organisations. Following the revocation of both ABRO and DARA's Trading Fund Orders by means of secondary legislation, the new group was granted Trading Fund status and began formal trading on 1 April 2008. Its focus remains solely on the delivery of the Defence Industrial and Technology Strategies by being a flexible, responsive, operationally excellent organisation that provides a cost competitive in-house maintenance, repair, overhaul and upgrade capability in support of the Armed Forces.'

Someone has inscribed the words ‘Time’s Mileage!!’ on the front panel. This, perhaps, is a reference to measuring operating life of vehicles like this in terms of hours rather than distance travelled.
