English: Crown, or rind grafting, from Brett's Colonists' Guide, p330, a handbook of useful knowledge for European settlers in New Zealand, who were not used to southern hemisphere seasons and needed to learn a wide range of new farming skills. This method of graft is almost always used in re-grafting large apple or pear trees.
