In most cases, the cam-surface measurement will give a reading one-quarter inch larger thanthe old system, thus, a 4;-inch machine (modern method) would cor-respond to a 4-inch machine by the old measurement. Rib Knitting is done on a machine having two sets of needles,one forming the back of the fabric, the other forming the face.
