English: Christ is served by angels. Jesus is seen seated under a large rock with angels serving him with trays filled with food and drinks. He blesses the food. To the right, angels are seen arriving from the sky with more trays; animals, including a porcupine, can be seen in the foreground eating the crumbs. This engraving was made by Hieronymus Wierix after Bernardino Passeri. Published in Antwerp in 1563 it is from Nadal’s “Evangelicae Historiae Imagines” (see below) . It is signed on plate with initials: “Bern. Pass. Rom. Invent” and “Hieronymus W. fecit”. Dimensions: height 175 mms; width 142 mms. Of the 153 plates of the “Evangelicae Historiae Imagines” 20 were done by printmakers other than Wierix.
