In these smallstructures (says Mi. Dallaway, ubisupra) the richest tabernacle-work ofNiches, Finials, and Pedestals, exciteour admiration. Statues of Kings andBishops were usually placed in the firstmentioned, while those of tutelarySaints occupied the other exclusively.
