English: It is not known who the medals belonged to, but they are believed to be one man's medals. There are 6 medals in one plastic wallet and a separate Iron Cross. There is an iron medal "In Eiserner Zeit". There is a badge with swastika (English!) which has not been identified and may not be from World War One. Six other badges have been contributed: 3 War Workers, 1 Queen Mary's Needlework Group, 1 Somme [?], 1 white metal 1919 memorial.

English: Queen Mary Needlework Guild official's badge (WW1, 1914-1918)

A Queen Mary Needlework Guild (QMNG) badge to show the wearer was engaged in regular volunteer work for the QMNG. These badges were originally issued with a personal certificates. Members paid for their own badges, with 'ordinary member' badges costing 1/- (shilling) each and the ‘special badges’ for officials at 2/- each. I understand this particular badge was the type worn by QMNG officials (costing two shillings each)..

The QMNG was set up in 1914 with Queen Mary as it’s patron but it’s origins go back further. The Guild was founded in 1882 as The London Guild to provide orphanages with knitted garments. In 1889 it was renamed the London Needlework Guild and in August 1914 renamed the Queen Mary’s Needlework Guild. QMNG branches were set up throughout Britain and HM Queen Mary took an active involvement overseeing the Guild's work during the War.
