English: Grafting the orange tree from Brett's Colonists' Guide, p316, a handbook of useful knowledge for European settlers in New Zealand, who were not used to southern hemisphere seasons and needed to learn a wide range of new farming skills. Fig a describes how to graft the tree if the stock is bigger than the graft and Fig b shows the method if the stock and graft are about the same size.
