fact, in very much thesame way as the handicapper apportions the marks of an athletein a handicap swimming or track event. In order that nounnecessary hardship be worked upon the stronger team the•same watchfulness as is employed by the handicapper in hiswork is imperative, on the part of the committee, or individualallotting points to the weaker team. The committee makes out the handicaps before each game,sending the same sealed to the referee with instructions that thecommunication is not to be opened until the end of the secondhalf; this procedure was productive of making the stronger teamplay fast and hard ball all the way, with no chance to loaf. Italso caused the weaker team to fight to the end to keep downtheir opponents score and to earn enough points to maintaintheir lead and win. While not all has been accomplished thatwas originally planned by the committee, yet considering thedifficulties to clear away and the obstacles to overcome, theresults have been most gratifying.

The city championship in the major division has beenwon for two years by the Missouri Athletic Club tive. The firstyear the Central Y.M.C.A. and North Side Y.M.C.A. tied forsecond place. The second year Concordia Seminary won secondhonors and the North Side Y.M.C.A. third. In the minor■division the championship has been won each year by the juniorfive of the Concordia Seminary, the North Side Y.M.C.A. second,and the South Side Y.M.C.A. third.
