The Frontispiece to the Old Testament. Moses seated at right with tablets, pointing to the heavens with two women at either side of him, one studying a Bible at right and the other praying; dark clouds surrounding, with light breaking through above at left. 1800. Inscriptions:
Lettered below image with title, Bible references to verse from Deuteronomy (6:4), Joshua (1:8), St Matthew (23:10) and St John (3:39), production detail: "P. J. De Loutherbourg Esq. R.A. pinx.", "James Heath Esq. R.A. sculp" and publication line: "London, Publish'd 20th. Octr. 1800, by Thos. Macklin, Fleet Street". Print made by James Heath.
