This old Scottish town, located on the East coast, south of Dundee is a university town.
The University of St Andrews is the third-oldest university in the English-speaking world and the oldest in Scotland. It was here that William, the future King of Britain studied and met Kate, his wife.
St Andrews has many attractions to draw the visitor, and is well-known as "The home of Golf". It's generally accepted that the game was invented in Scotland (like many other things) and the Governing body of the sport was also here in St Andrews for centuries. The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews is the oldest and most prestigious golf club in the world.
My photo is of the east tower of the Cathedral of St Andrews, (now ruinous). It was taken from an unusual angle, from nearby St Rule's tower (which is older than the cathedral).
I took the photo when visiting a school friend who was studying at the university, using my newly-bought Nikkormat FTn and 35mm f2.0 ai Lens. The film was Ilford Pan F.
