Student Organizations and Activities If one assumes that a full educational experience includes not only theacquisition of knowledge but also its application, then out-of-class studentorganizations and activities are necessary to the academic process; hence, studentsand faculty at Chicago Circle are presently attempting to build out-of-classactivities that will have the quality and flexibility needed in a university thatwill have 20,000 students in 1970. The University of Illinois at Chicago Circle recognizes many student organiza-tions and activities. The nearly sixty organizations currently functioning can bebest illustrated by the following examples: honorary groups—Phi Eta Sigma(men), Alpha Lambda Delta (women); religious groups—Yavneh, LutheranStudent Association, Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, Newman Club; pro-fessional and educational groups—Forensic Union, English Club, AmericanChemical Society, Student Education Association; interest groups—InternationalRelations
