t to apprehend him, the success of his-eloquence, even in that case, had been truly wonderful; butin the case before us, it was surely superior to all praise ; forin a discourse addressed to others, and even on a spiritual sub-ject, it disarmed a band of inveterate enemies, and made themhis friends.
