Twice during the action had Nagleeplaced himself personally at the head of hismen in the firing line. General Stonemanis handing a note to an orderly. Beforethe battle of Fair Oaks, he had conductedthe successful raids against the railroad.At Hanover Court House Stonemans riderswere opposed to those of the great Stuart.
