This form of waddy (fig. 4), although itis often used as a missile, is not the onewhich the native prefers for that purposeHis throwing waddy or wadna, is muchshorter and heavier, and very much resem-bles the short missile club used so effectivelyby the Polynesians. Tw^o other forms ofwaddy are shown at figs. 3 and 5, the latterof which is generally known by the name o^ piccaninny waddy, because it is generallysmaller and lighter than the others, and canbe used by a child. Nos. 1 and 2 are also clubs, but are madein a different form, and used in a differentmanner.
