Hardly werewe installed once more under the roof of Arturo Pittobefore a dispatch was placed in my hands, which atonce altered all my plans. An expedition to the reliefof Emin Pasha was more to my mind than the explora-tion of Morocco, and I did not hesitate for a momentin my decision. Next morning a steamer loaded with grain wasleaving for Tangier, and I took passage thither, pre-paratory to sailing for England. Mr. Crichton-Browne,now a full-fledged traveller, continued overland by wayof Mequinez and Fez to Tangier, and so ended ourtravels in the Atlas and Southern Morocco.
