This file comes from the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS), Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) or Historic American Landscapes Survey (HALS). These are programs of the National Park Service established for the purpose of documenting historic places. Records consist of measured drawings, archival photographs, and written reports.

  • Significance: This structure is associated with events that have made significant contributions to the broad patterns of our history, i.e., early 20th century mining for precious metals in Wyoming and the western United States. This roofless structure has been pushed, or has collapsed, downslope a short distance from its original location on the large ore dump. It measures 31 feet north-south by 22 feet east-west. It was constructed with round logs hewn on their inner surface and using saddle and/or V-notching with mud chinking. The interior was divided into two large rooms by means of a log partition. Associated with the mill are two concrete piers, two large chunks of concrete, and a possible wooden riffle table (6 feet by 5 feet), all located at the bottom of the ore dump in or just outside the western wall of the structure.
