CASTLE OF SILVA ACT III The retainers bring news that the King and his warriors are without the castle. Silvahides Ernani in a secret passage and orders that the King be admitted. Don Carlos inquires,with irony, why Silvas castle is so well guarded, and demands that he surrender Ernani or lose his own life.
