Falstaffs love scenewith Mistress Ford is inter-rupted by Fords friends,disguised as elves andfairies, who thrash the fatknight soundly. In theconfusion *Dr. Caius mis-takes Bardolfo for Nanetta,Ford is finally won over,and his daughter andFenton are happily mar-ried. The Victor offers avery fine record of oneof the best known airsfrom the opera: the Quandero paggio, sung by Falstaffto Mistress Alice Ford inAct II.
