Peatross, Oscar F.; John P. McCarthy and John Clayborne (editors) (1995) Bless 'em All: The Raider Marines of World War II, Review ISBN0965232506, however, states that the photo is of Carlson, Jacob Vouza, and Australian Major John Mather.
Website states that McCullough was active duty military and on duty at the time the photo was taken, making it public domain under U.S. Government regulations. Also, Petross states in his book, page 147, that it is an official USMC photo.
