English: Allegory of the prosperity of the United Provinces of the Netherlands, with, in the background, a general and detailed profile of Амстердам seen from the Эй, which is filled with sailing ships representing the country’s provinces. Named places and monuments of Amsterdam are ’t Rijsen hooft, Монтелбансторен, Зюйдеркерк, Аудекерк, Koopmansbeurs, ’tstathuijs, Ньивекерк, Haringpakkerstoren and De Nieuwe stadt. At the top are 4 cartouches with views of Флиссинген, Мидделбург, Роттердам and Энкхёйзен (the country’s other most important sea trading places at the time), as well as 6 medallions with the bust portraits of Мориц Оранский, Joris van Spilbergen, Ноорт, Оливье ван, Линсхотен, Ян Гюйген ван, Виллем Баренц and Хемскерк, Якоб ван. In the bottom left corner is the printer’s dedication to Мориц Оранский and, in the bottom right, a dedication to the admiralties of Holland, Zeeland and West Friesland. |
