Координаты GPS[править код]
Мой русский язык не очень хорошо, так что, пожалуйста, будьте терпеливы со мной - английский является моим родным языком.
Координаты GPS в статье не источником для надежного источника, и я знаем, что они значительно не так.WTucker 23:58, 28 июня 2012 (UTC)
- I can try to talk in English. AFAIK, Lechuguilla is situated in Carlsbad Caverns National Park. The coordinates at list roughly corresponds to Park (that can be easily checked with Google-earth). So, i believe, it is much better to point these rough coordinates than to point nothing. For reader (Russian reader!) not involved in speleology and not involved particularly in Lechuguilla exploration rough coordinates together with a point at the map give almost exhaustive information about the location. I can't remember now where these coordinates were taken from (probably, from english version). If you insist, i can suggest to use more rough coordinates, rounded to minutes. - Thank you for your consideration in using English. It would seem to me that coordinates which are known to be for Carlsbad Caverns National Park should be in the Carlsbad Caverns National Park article and not imply that they are precise coordinates for Lechuguilla Cave itself. I do not believe that inaccurate data is somehow better than no data. WTucker 13:24, 29 июня 2012 (UTC)

- The precise location of this cave is protected by legislative action in the U.S. It is considered to be "significant" and because it is on government property it is protected according to the Federal Cave Resources Protection Act. If a reliable source can be found which verifies precise coordinates, use it; but, otherwise it is original research which implies more accuracy than is real to use general coordinates for the Park. I am NSS; but, that is not the reason. The reason is that these coordinates are wrong and unsourced. WTucker 13:56, 29 июня 2012 (UTC)
