Still the wrong name[править код]

Pardon my not using Russian. It's not what it once was. I'm the one who wrote the English and Swedish articles about Kronan. I've read all of the literature cited there and I've spent a lot of time writing about this topic.

No one today refers to this ship as "Stora Kronan". And I do mean no one. It's not used in the literature and it's not the common name of the ship. I read part of the debate linked above (mostly through Google Translate), and I frankly don't understand why this name was chosen. It's Kronan. Unless someone pulls a whole bunch of new literature (where "Stora Kronan" is used consistently) out of nowhere.

I should also add that this is the only ship by the name "Kronan" that is well-known and described outside of highly specialized sources. The others (built 1618 and 1632) are highly obscure and very little is known about them. They weren't spectacularly large and they aren't available for modern archaeologists to excavate and describe in detail.
