VisualEditor office hours[править код]

Greetings,

The engineering department has already planned office hours in the next months to discuss VisualEditor. The first one will be held on January 15th, at 2300 UTC; the second will be held a week later, on January 22nd, at 2300 UTC. Please join as Product Manager James Forrester discusses VisualEditor and upcoming plans. Logs will be posted on Meta after each office hour completes. (If office hours are heavily attended, it can be difficult to get to all questions, but if you want to ask a question and cannot attend or do not speak English, please let us know your question here by the day before and a community liaison will present it among possible discussion topics).

We’ll post a reminder close to the date as well.

нужен короткий перевод русский-английский[править код]

сделал правку в англовики по с-300 (ПВО) прекрасно приняли (пол листа текст и пол листа таблица), а вот следующую поменьше (2 абзаца) 2 админа рубают за плохой инглиш, помогите [1] собственно нужный текст (в самом низу обсуждения, в подзаголовке (согласно правилам написания статей)) - small mortars and rockets Mass media reported: ITAR-TASS official text of the [2],[3], [4], [5] и далее там 2 абзаца (можно и только часть перевести, и того хватит). сами источники переводить НЕ надо.

SuggestBot on Russian Wikipedia?[править код]

I was recently contacted by Rubin16 asking if it would be possible to run SuggestBot on Russian Wikipedia. For those who are not familiar with SuggestBot, it's a bot that users can sign up with to get suggestions for articles to edit, either periodically or just a one-time set. I've included a picture of what the suggestions might look like, it's from the current version running on English Wikipedia. The articles should be similar to the articles a user has already edited, we find those similar articles using collaborative filtering and information retrieval algorithms. For one-time requests it's also possible to tell the bot what you're interested in, to get a custom set of suggestions.

The bot already runs in four languages: English, Portuguese, Swedish, and Norwegian. I owe it to Hungarian and Persian Wikipedia to get it running there as well, so I thought that if there's interest from the Russian Wikipedia community to have it running here, I could set that up at the same time.

A few things you might have questions about:

  1. The bot is opt-in only, it doesn't post suggestions to users who haven't asked for them.
  2. It only suggests articles that are tagged with certain work templates (e.g. {{Refimprove}}) to make sure that the articles actually need work. As shown in the example it combines work templates into what we call "task categories". These are configurable depending on what a given Wikipedia edition needs, the categories are different for each Wikipedia.

If you have any questions about this, ask away! I'm adding this page on my watchlist and will check in from time to time. Would be great if someone could translate it into Russian too, so those who are not fluent in English can understand it. Regards, Nettrom 17:57, 4 декабря 2013 (UTC)

I'd like to give you a heads-up about the release of Notifications on the Russian Wikipedia in coming weeks.

Notifications will inform users about new activity that affects them on this wiki, in a unified way: for example, this new tool will let you know when you have new talk page messages, edit reverts, mentions or links -- and is designed to augment (rather than replace) the watchlist. The Wikimedia Foundation's editor engagement team developed this tool (code-named 'Echo') earlier this year, to help users contribute more productively to MediaWiki projects.

Notifications were first released on the English Wikipedia in April 2013, and have now been successfully deployed on dozens of other wikis in different languages, including the Dutch, French, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese Wikipedias. Community response has been very positive so far, across languages and regions. Users are responding particularly well to social features such as Mentions and Thanks, which enable them to communicate more effectively than before. We're now getting ready to bring Notifications to the Russian Wikipedia and almost all other Wikimedia sites, and are aiming for an October 22 deployment, as outlined in this release plan.

This first release will include a basic set of notifications aimed at both newcomers and experienced users:

  • Talk page messages: When a message is left on your user talk page.
  • Mentions: When your userpage is linked to, in a signed post, on a talk page;
  • Page links: When a new link is made to a page you created;
  • Edit reverts: When your edits are reverted;
  • Thanks: A small "thank you" for an edit;
  • User rights: When your user rights change.

These notifications can be adjusted in your user preferences for each type of notification.

Important update about VisualEditor and Russian Wikipedia[править код]

The VisualEditor will be enabled for users on the Russian Wikipedia without having to opt-in from your preferences, providing you with two ways of editing. Editing wikitext the old way, through source, will not be turned off. Instead editors old and new alike will have a choice in what way is best to edit a page for what you are trying to do.

At this time the Wikimedia Foundation does not plan on offering a preference to turn off the VisualEditor in your preferences once it is enabled. Erik Möller has posted this to the FAQ on the English Wikipedia here. The intent of this is to provide the entire community with two options for editing, which will allow those of you who have been working here with dedication and committment to still edit as you choose, as well as the ability to see the new way of editing and help the new users that VisualEditor will bring to your community to use the software. In turn you can help them use the wikitext editing to accomplish some complicated things that they cannot do using VisualEditor. We believe that it will be important for the Russian Wikipedia to be able to continue to work together in this new environment.

I would like to stress that the lack of an option to directly disable VisualEditor is in no way meant to insult or detract from the hard work and opinions of you all who have worked so hard for the past ten years to build this Wikipedia. We believe that the community can find solutions within itself to deal with this new environment for editing in a constructive way that will engage everyone in figuring out how to best use VisualEditor in your community.

This is the time for the community to start this discussion, and I encourage you to do so. не буду ничего предлагать, но ваш вариант совершенно не соответствует содержанию списка. Далеко не все пункты списка связаны с перехватом, не все - с электронными коммуникациями (например, традиционную POTS-телефонию вряд ли кто-то назовёт электронными коммуникациями, а СОРМ расчитан и на неё), а некоторые пункты вовсе не занимаются коммуникациями (напр., Шенгенская информационная система). 50.149.111.71 03:55, 26 июня 2013 (UTC)

VisualEditor and the Russian Wikipedia[править код]

The Wikimedia Foundation will soon be deploying the alpha release of VisualEditor to the Russian Wikipedia. You can read more about Visual editor in Russian at your local page, Википедия:Визуальный_редактор, or more in detail at the MediaWiki page mw:VisualEditor. On MediaWiki you can also find a User Guide in development as well as a FAQ. These pages can also be used to write more information about VisualEditor here in Russian, such as how to personally opt-out from using it.

The Wikimedia Foundation wants to hear what you have to say about VisualEditor, from general comments to bugs/concerns with the software. I see on the talk page for VisualEditor, Обсуждение_Википедии:Визуальный_редактор, this has already started. I encourage the Russian Wikipedia to set up a Feedback page (for example) where the community can list what it has to say about VisualEditor. This will help us support you in developing this software to help the encyclopedia grow.

  1. Does Russian Wikipedia has an official Facebook Fan Page? If not, is there any unofficial Facebook Page or Group? (official here means community acknowledged)
  2. If there is such page, how many people became admin (manager, content creator, etc.) in that Page? How long has it existed?
  3. Does Russian Wikipedia has an official Twitter handle?
  4. If yes, how many people have access to that handle? And how long has it existed?
  5. Does Russian Wikipedia has any other social media presence (official or unofficial), such as G+, Identi.ca, etc.

Siberia 1982 questions[править код]

I took File:Khabarovsk railway station 1982.jpg picture. Initialy it looked similar to File:Khabarovsk-1 railway station 19920504.jpg. However it the windows are not exactly the same. My group had no reason to be at the train station. Could be the airport but the pictures dont match. Confusingly there are different buildings of the Khabarovsk I railway station. Решение стюардов по Чеченской Википедии[править код]

Принято решение по запросу на Мете о Чеченской Википедии. Вкратце.

  1. Сняты все флаги с бюрократов и администраторов ЧеВики.
  2. Сообществу Чеченской Википедии предложено самостоятельно выбрать себе админов и бюрократов, однако окончательное решение будут принимать стюарды.
  3. До назначения новых сисопов и бюрократов управление ЧеВики осуществляется стюардами и глобальными администраторами.
  4. Все участники, заблокированные в течение примерно 6 месяцев до этого решения, могут запростиь разблокировки.

Hi guys, I would like to ask about the validity of three sources: http://bdsa.ru/ , http://rus-sky.com and http://militera.lib.ru/ . Some of our members in vi.wikipedia.org are using these sources for references in some posts and we just have a discussion about the validity of these sources. According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lib.ru, the lib.ru source seems to be a self-publishing source. But I checked the Russian wiki and it seems to be very popular to use this source. The other two sources, I have no idea, but they seems to be electrical libraries. As I know a little about Russian, sorry about that, may I inquire you about these sources? Thanks in advances. Но подробности на эстонском (стр. 54):

Max-Alfred Trakmann sündis 31. oktoobril 1890 Ambla kihelkonnas Pirtsu külas talupoja perekonnas. 1910. aastal lõpetas Tallinnas Aleksandri gümnaasiu mi. Pärast gümnaasiumi lõpetamist astus Trakmann Moskva ülikooli arstiteaduskonda, mille lõ petas 1916. aastal ning töötas seejärel arstina Märjamaa ja Kullamaa kihelkonnas. 1917. aasta jaanu aris mobiliseeriti Trakmann sõjaväkke, kus ta paistis silma vasakpoolselt meelestatud aktiivse is ikuna. Loomulikuks jätkuks sellele oli Trakmanni valimine pärast Veebruarirevolutsiooni tekkinud väe osa soldatite komitee liikmeks. 1917. aasta detsembris liitus Trakmann VSDT(b)P-ga. Bolševike n imekirjas valiti Trakmann 12. armee Soldatite Nõukogu liikmeks ja edasi selle sekretäriks. Raamat u „Revolutsiooni lipukandjad” II osas oleva elulookirjelduse järgi jätkus Trakmanni karjäär töö ga Moskvas Sõjaasjade rahvakomissariaadis osakonnajuhatajana; midagi enamat seejuures ei täps ustata. Trakmann juhtis mõnda aega Kommuuni Nõukogu Rahvusvahelise Ühenduse valitsust, mis tege likkuses kujutas endast muu hulgas ka luureasutust (lähemalt Kommuuni Nõukogu Rahvusvahel ise Ühenduse valitsuse kohta loe järgmisest peatükist) ning hiljem Ühiskondliku Kindlustuse Val itsust. 1919. aasta veebruaris käis Trakmann Kommuuni Nõukogu delegatsiooni juhina Moskvas, pida mas Nõukogude Venemaa valitsusega läbirääkimisi Eesti Vabariigi vastase sõjategevuse jätkamise suhtes. Народный артист Филиппин[править код]

Коллеги, прошу англоязычных проконсультировать — как лучше всего перевести на русский титул National Artist of the Philippines? Есть большое искушение на кальку — «Народный артист Филиппин» :-), тем более что критерии присвоения звания схожи с нашими. Мои варианты — «Национальный художник Филиппин», «Национальный деятель искусств Филиппин», «Выдающийся деятель искусств Филиппин». Кто-нибудь предложит лучше?--Mvk608 08:49, 25 февраля 2013 (UTC)

Я бы использовал "Выдающийся деятель искусств". Artist - это может быть не только художник (но и, к примеру, музыкант, певец, танцор, актёр). --DR 10:10, 25 февраля 2013 (UTC)

непредвзятость, непредубеждённость, широта кругозора. Но то, о чём говорится в английской статье, это Коммуникабельность, так что вы, кажется, чуть опоздали (но можете расширить существующую статью). Open-mindedness можно оставить перенаправлением, только если есть авторитетные источники на русском, где open-mindedness используется в английском написании и предложенном значении. Иначе потом добавят mind редиректом на разум, потом ещё что-нибудь, и получится какой-то псевдо-переводчик с английского на русский... --NeoLexx 17:44, 6 февраля 2013 (UTC)

Не британским, а американским :-) В общем случае весь это «птичий язык» of political correctness на русский адекватно не переводится. Что тут в сумме хотят сказать, это что в офисе ты не назовёшь афроамериканца чёрным, не будешь кривиться на секретаршу-афроамериканку, пришедшую на работу в «афро-стиле» (золотистые чалма и платье до пола), не будешь рассказывать анекдоты про заи́к и геев и т.д. и т.п. Ближайшим термином, нажимающим на примерно те же семантические точки у носителя русского языка, было бы что-то вроде «социо-коммуникативная толерантность». Однако толку от моего личного словотворчества ноль, поэтому пока убирайте редирект и расширяйте «коммуникабельность». --NeoLexx 13:35, 7 февраля 2013 (UTC)
Всё-таки, вы ошиблись. Правильнее перевод названия этой статьи будет - восприимчивость (буквально - "открытость разума"). А статья коммуникабельность совсем не о том (кстати, там есть ссылка на английский раздел, правда странная - en:People skills). --infovarius 18:18, 21 февраля 2013 (UTC)
Данный термин несколько раз звучал в сериале House of Cards (s01e03 26:36; s01e05 22:38; s01e07 07:45)'. Если у кого-то есть русскоязычная версия от первого канала, то можно узнать как они перевели этот термин. По смыслу это совсем не то же самое, что коммуникабельности, скорее «Способность изменить своё мнение из-за новых аргументов» или «Способность воспринимать новые идеи». Обнаружил в Казахской Википедии две крошечных статьи: kk:Дискіенгізгі (857 байт) и kk:Дискі жинақтауыш (719 байт). Насколько мне удалось понять при помощи онлайн-переводчиков, названия статей означают «дисковод» и «дисковый накопитель». Если это так, то, думаю, статьи надо объединить.   • Сам объединить не могу, т. к. не владею казахским языком — тут ведь надо не просто механически перенести текст из одной статьи в другую, а объединять по смыслу (в статьях на языках, которыми не владею, считаю возможным править только интервики, но скоро и это не будет нужно). Поскольку здесь долго никто не отвечал, я уже́ думал о том, чтобы обратиться в казахскую Википедию. Вот только куда? Администратор казахской Википедии Arystanbek ответил на моё обращение, что у статей неправильные интервики. В соответствии с составленной им таблицей (за которую ему моя искренняя признательность) я исправил интервики на Викиданных; коллега Arystanbek подтвердил правильность изменённых мной интервик. Это фрагмент статьи Hurwitz quaternion. Затруднение вызывает слово order - не могу найти соответствия или аналога на русском.
