Альтепетль

Альтепетль (аст. Āltepētl) — крупная административная единица в государстве ацтеков по энотерриториальному признаку. Слово является идиомой, образованной из двух корней языка науатль: ā-tl означает «вода», а tepē-tl — «гора». Обычно относится к составляющим единицам ацтекского Тройственного союза.

Аналоги: «нах» в языках майя, «нюу» в миштекском языке.
